Brundage Mountain Resort - Idaho
Brundage Mountain, near scenic McCall, Idaho, has been offering the Northwest's most delightful winter experience for more than 45 years.
The recent addition of two new chairlifts more than doubles the resort's uphill capacity, ensuring that this uncrowded gem will stay that way for years to come. Visitors enjoy the wide variety of 46 expertly groomed runs or accept the challenge of abundant deep powder on limitless trails covering 1,500 acres.
Brundage Mountain is the ideal family area. The Kid's Center (ages 4 to 12) and a bright, cheery day care (ages 6 weeks to 8 years) will keep your little ones happy while you enjoy your day. The new Bear Chair, installed in 2007, connects the Kid's Center with more beginner and advanced beginner terrain than ever before.
Youngsters at Brundage Mountain learn to ski and snowboard through organized play and discover the most important thing about skiing and snowboarding right from the start... It's fun!
For the seasoned snow lover, the new Lakeview Lift opens up 160 acres of new terrain on Brundage Mountain's back side. Four new runs in Lakeview Bowl are groomed, the rest of the area is left untouched to offer the pristine powder experience skiers have come to expect at Brundage Mountain, home of the Best Snow in IdahoTM.
Perhaps you'd like to join a few adventuresome skiers and snowboarders and try guided snocat skiing. You will find incredible chutes and beautiful, inviting bowls of untracked snow on 19,000 acres of secluded backcountry. You should be a fall-line skier, able to ski most runs and have some powder and tree skiing experience. One- and two-day trips are offered with an overnight option in a wood-fired backcountry yurt.
If you're looking to recreate at a slower pace, take a quiet moment to enjoy views of the nearby Salmon River Mountains, Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness and the famed Seven Devils towering over Hell's Canyon, the deepest river gorge in the United States.
Although McCall's roots are in timber, mining and cattle ranching, it has long been a popular summer and winter resort. Just eight miles from Brundage Mountain, McCall has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and offers fine dining, shopping and entertainment.
